WHAT WE DO
We meet the unsheltered neighbors right where they are. We show up in the places they eat, sleep, and even “work.” We find them under bridges, at encampments, behind vacant buildings, walking streets, on the street medians begging for help. We don’t ask for ID, sobriety, or a story. We see you. We remember your name.
Yowkebed Ministries is consistent with our service times each week, meeting their basic life-sustaining needs. We remind them they’re still alive, still human, still worthy of a warm meal and clean clothes. We listen to them, we pray with them, we laugh with them, and we encourage them that the best is yet to come.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR:
Christian Prayer Intercessors, evangelical outreach services, offering food and clothing supplies, meal planning services, laundry assistance (Wednesdays 11am–1pm), fundraising, event planning such as Super Duper Saturday (4th Saturday of each month), social and emotional support, administration and organization support, holiday and special events, networking support, sharing information with community stakeholders, and donating survival essentials such as tarps, blankets, and sleeping bags.

How You Can Help
Donate Financially
Your financial support helps us cover the costs of laundry services, purchase food and supplies, and maintain our inventory of shoes and socks for those in need. Yowkebed Ministries is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization (since 2016), and your donation is tax-deductible. Donate Items
We’re always in need of specific items to serve our neighbors well. Current needs include clothing and footwear such as tennis shoes and loafers (all sizes) — our neighbors walk everywhere or rely on public transit, so comfortable, durable footwear is essential — new dark-colored socks (all sizes), warm coats, sweaters, hoodies for men and women, and other warm clothing for colder months. Laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets are also needed. For our food program, we need gallon freezer bags, sandwich bags, aluminum foil, snack bags, parchment paper, plastic forks and spoons, and napkins. We are also fundraising for essential kitchen equipment to expand our capacity, including a chest freezer (Hamilton Beach or similar), a commercial upright freezer (Kitano 2-door, 49 cu ft capacity), additional storage, and meal prep supplies.
